So much has changed at the Crash Pad from July 13, 2016 to July 13, 2017. The closer we got to the anniversary of the bottom photo, the harder it become to not compare the two photos. So, exactly 12 months later, we took the photo from the street to compare. Our focus on curb appeal really paid off! Total curb appeal cost (paint, landscaping, lighting, handrailing, new sidewalk): $700.
It's crazy how a few bucks worth of paint and a roll of privacy film can change the entire look and feel of the porch 💙🚪. When we first moved into the Crash Pad, it had the look and feel of a crack house, complete with tattered plastic covering the windows and random locks bolting the doors shut. What were they thinking?? One of the first things I did was paint this door with Behr paint, rip off that nasty plastic, and add faux-stained glass film from Home Depot to allow natural light but maintaining privacy. Total upgrade cost: $27.
Afterwards, our focus shifted to the rooms and inside shared spaces. We have really come a long way in four of the five bedrooms and the living room. Changing everything from builder-grade beige to something interesting has been so rewarding!
I can't help but wonder what the next 12 months will look like!
